Trauma isn't just about what happened. It's about what it's doing to you now.

Trauma can come from a single event or accumulate over years. It doesn't require a diagnosis to be real — and you don't have to meet anyone's definition of "bad enough" to deserve support. If it's affecting your life, that's enough.

🌪️ Flashbacks or intrusive memories
😨 Hypervigilance or feeling always on edge
🚪 Avoiding people, places, or situations
😶 Emotional numbness or feeling disconnected
😴 Nightmares or disrupted sleep
💢 Outbursts of anger or intense emotional reactions
🧩 Childhood trauma affecting your adult life
💔 Grief, loss, or witnessing something traumatic

You came to the right place.

Trauma responses aren't a sign of weakness — they're your nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do after something overwhelming happened. The problem is when those responses don't turn off, even when you're safe.

Trauma treatment is not about reliving what happened. It's about working with a skilled therapist to process it in a way that gradually reduces its hold over your daily life — at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

At Family Healthcare, your trauma is treated with the seriousness and sensitivity it deserves. No one will push you faster than you're ready to go.

Long-Term Support — As Long as You Need It

Trauma healing is rarely linear. There are setbacks, breakthroughs, and plateaus — and your care team will be there through all of it. Whether you need intensive support in the beginning or occasional check-ins as you build your life back, Family Healthcare is here for the long haul.

We're With You

You survived it. Now let's help you heal from it.

Trauma doesn't heal on its own — and time alone doesn't erase it. Without treatment, the nervous system stays stuck in survival mode, and the effects of trauma keep showing up in your relationships, your sleep, your reactions, and your sense of self.

Trauma-focused therapy works. Research consistently shows that people who receive proper trauma treatment experience significant reductions in PTSD symptoms, depression, anxiety, and physical health problems related to chronic stress.

You don't have to keep managing on your own. Reaching out for trauma support is one of the most courageous things a person can do — and the providers at Family Healthcare are ready to meet that courage with the care it deserves.

🤝

A Safe, Consistent Relationship

Healing from trauma happens in the context of a safe, trusting relationship with a provider who shows up consistently and meets you with patience and skill — every session.

🔬

Trauma-Specific Approaches

General therapy isn't always enough for trauma. Our providers use approaches specifically designed for trauma and PTSD — not generic talk therapy applied to a specialized problem.

You Set the Pace

Trauma treatment at Family Healthcare is always paced to what you're ready for. Your therapist will never push you into material you're not prepared to handle.

💲

$50 Per Visit

Trauma is already costly enough. At $50 per visit for most qualifying patients, quality trauma care is accessible to anyone who needs it in the St. George community.

You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone.

From your first call to ongoing healing — here's what to expect at Family Healthcare.

1

Call to Book

Call one of our Southern Utah offices to schedule. You don't need to explain your trauma on the phone — just let us know you'd like to be seen for trauma or PTSD support.

2

Safe Initial Assessment

Your first visit is a low-pressure conversation. Your provider will listen, ask some questions about your history and symptoms, and get a sense of what kind of support will help you most.

3

Building Your Foundation

Before processing trauma directly, your therapist will help you build the safety, grounding, and coping skills you need to approach it in a manageable way.

4

Healing Over Time

Trauma treatment unfolds gradually, with regular sessions and consistent support. Your care team will adjust your plan as you progress — always following your lead.

Common Questions

No — and a good trauma therapist will never push you to share more than you're ready to. The process begins with building safety, trust, and coping skills. Processing the actual trauma comes later, and always at a pace that you control. You are never required to re-tell your story in graphic detail.
Our providers treat all types of trauma — including childhood trauma, abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual), domestic violence, accidents, medical trauma, sudden loss, and vicarious trauma. If something has significantly impacted your sense of safety or wellbeing, it's worth talking to a provider about.
No. You don't need any prior diagnosis to receive trauma support at Family Healthcare. Many people experience significant trauma symptoms without meeting the full criteria for a PTSD diagnosis. Your provider will assess your symptoms and build a plan based on what you're actually experiencing — not a label.
No. Trauma treatment visits are $50 per visit for most qualifying patients with no insurance required. We believe everyone who has experienced trauma deserves access to care — regardless of financial situation.
Yes. Everything you share with your therapist is confidential and protected by law. Your provider will explain the very limited exceptions — such as immediate safety concerns — clearly and upfront, before your treatment begins.
